Let's put the care in healthcare.

We believe quality, holistic healthcare shouldn’t be a privilege. Unfortunately, a lot of stigma is attached to sexual and mental health care, causing many people to shy away from seeking the services they need. tabú providers leverage our content and community to offer the best possible care to a range of patients and clients. Let's work together to put lift up the voices of those seeking care and empower them to take control of their overall health.

Why does inclusive care matter?

  1. In any given year, about 1 in 5 Americans has a mental illness, but nearly 60% don’t get services. [source]

  2. 57% of 18-24 year old women recently surveyed Google sexual health issues instead of seeing a doctor. Nearly 60% were “too embarrassed” to use words like 'vagina,' 'orgasm,' 'labia,' and 'discharge.' [source]

  3. Black/African American adults are 20% more likely to report psychological distress than their white counterparts. In addition to stigma, many black clients have reported experiencing racism and microaggression from therapists, preventing them from receiving adequate treatment. [source]

  4. 1 in 5 transgender and gender non-conforming people have been refused care altogether. A recent survey revealed that almost 30% of respondents had experienced harassment or violence in healthcare settings and 50% of respondents had to teach their medical providers about appropriate care for transgender people.
